HOW GAEL MONFILS WAS UNCOMFORTABLE WITH ATALANTA SCHEDULE

French Gael Monfils has complained about his Atlanta Open schedule before going on court against Thanasi Kollinaki, apparently his loss in three sets.

Having been the only player that participated in the Ultimate Tennis Showdown and was forced to play on Sunday. While, other players that participated at the UTS namely Yibing Wu and Ben Shelton got a day rest.

‘’It’s going to go very bad. I will land tomorrow and go straight on the court. I;m the only player from here who is playing tomorrow. I feel like the other two guys were protected and I feel like I wasn’t’’ Monfils said according to Tennis Majors reported World Tennis.

Although he expressed his happiness about going to Atalanta for the first time. He expressly said I will fly overnight and I will need rest. But it is what it is and I can’t complain. I will do my best and I heard I have some support’.

He admitted participating in the Ultimate Tennis Showdown was a good experience as his play has improved, especially use of backhand giving a boost of confidence which is gradually getting back and it was a good test for fitness. He further added his flair during practice was better, obviously that for me is a big win.’’
