SHELLY-ANN FRASER–PRYCE WINS 100m MADRID MEETING AHEAD OF WORLD ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Jamaican sprint star Shelly – Ann Fraser-Pryce rebuilding form ahead of the World Athletics Championships in Budapest got to a double victory in two days winning the 100m at a Madrid meeting on Saturday.

Fraser- Pryce who has been bun by injury earlier this season restricting her from some races clocked 10.38s to clinch the race in Madrid. She had earlier Thursday triumphed in Lucerne in a time of 10.82s boosting her confidence ahead of Bundapest.

The five time World Champion, 2008 and 2012 Olympic gold medallist could launch assault on the 100m, 200m and 4 x 100m relay in the Hungarian capital.

Meanwhile, she is happy with her form as she feel 100 percent fit having recovered from injury, ‘’I must say, but going to give it all and focus on myself.’’

Highlighting her expression of excitement ahead of Budapest, ‘’ I feel good, I’m happy to have had two serious races this week. Now I’m going to focus on Budapest.’’ The 36 year-old Jamaican said.

The World Athletics Championships will be held from August 19- 27 in Budapest, capital of Hungary.
