The reigning Nigeria Premier Champions, Enyimba failed to record a win after 0-0 in their second Group A match fixtures in the Naija Super 8 encounter at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos, Sunday night.

The two –time CAF Champions League winners who had lost their first match 2-1 against Remo Stars created goal scoring opportunities but poor finishing denied the Aba giants the yet eluding win.

Super Eagles goalkeeper John Noble was tested on duty as he saved Mohammed Zulkifilu’s 75 minutes penalty having also made superlative saves during the encounter which took Enyimba to the bottom of the table with one point.

Although Chigozie Chilekwu was impressive in the match, his foul in the box resulted in the penalty. But thanks to Noble who won Man of the Match for good goalkeeping which kept hope alive for the Aba base club side.

Enyimba will face Katsina United in their next match and a win could save the Peoples Elephant for qualification to the semi-final.

Meanwhile, Remo Remo Stars remain top of Group A with four points from two matches after they were held to a 1-1 draw by newly promoted Katsina United to Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL.

Remo Stars who had maintained a good start at the competition with an attractive display of soccer artistry. Especially their possession play, took the lead in the 23 minutes courtesy of new signing, Fabian Nwaorie, netting in from a close range.

Realising urgency to get a better rhythm of the game, Katsina United quickly adjusted, brilliant playing cohesion and precision football upfront. It paid-off five minutes after Remo Stars had scored as Samson Olasupu got an equalizer. Proving reasons Katsina United deserve a place in NPFL come this season.

Apparently, thanks to Falolu Azeez for the brilliant effort after his initial effort hit the crossbar for rebound and subsequently a pass to the goal scorer.

Meanwhile, matches continue Monday in Group B as Yobe Desert Stars take on Lobi Stars at 2p.m while Akwa United will face Rivers United by 4.30p.m.
