DIAMOND LEAGUE- TOBI AMUSAN WINS 100m HURDLES IN STOCKHOLM

Nigeria sprint star Tobi Amusan triumphed in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Stockholm Diamond League, dominating a time of 12.52s.

The world record holder in the 100m hurdles was favourite to win the gold, obviously she didn’t disappoint as she outpaced Sarah Lavin who clocked a personal best of 12.73s for second and Pia Skrzyszowska took the third place with a time 12.78s.

The Nigeria hurdles queen had finished second with 12.47s behind Puerto Rico’s Jasmine Camacho-Quinn who won the race with a time of 12.40s in the 100m hurdles at the Lausanne event.

Tobi gradually stabilised after initial stiffness in her race, although she won her first Diamond League event this season at the Racers Grand Prix in Jamaica.

With the win she is on her quest to defend the Diamond League crown as well as the World Athletics Championships gold medal considering her rising profile. She is the Commonwealth reigning champion which she won gold at the Birmingham Games.
