ANTHONY JOSHUA COULD FACE WILDER IN DECEMBER

Nigeria –British Anthony Joshua could face Deontay Wilder in December following weeks of speculation on the anticipated fight.

The proposed mega fight was sparked up after ‘The Bronze Bomber’ was at the ringside to watch Gervonta Davis win in the seventh round knock-out victory over his long- time rival Ryan Garcia in Las Vegas on Saturday.

Joshua and Wilder have been linked in past years with both pairs close to fighting in 2018 and 2019, but the highly anticipated fight failed following the break- out between their representatives which led the talks to the cooler until recently.

However, the recent win by Anthony Joshua over Jermaine Franklin in unanimous decision at the O2 Arena, his first victory in the ring since December 2020. Obviously has prompted the interest of Wilder’s manager Shelly Finkel for the big money fight later this year in Saudi Arabia.

Wilder, 37, feels confident of a fight soon with available options including the match against Joshua in the long awaiting battle. He also said he desires the fight against the Englishman of Nigerian descent knowing nobody is easy because on the night of the fight, you just never know what they might have in them that night.

Meanwhile Joshua’s manager Eddie Hearn is of the opinion a fight this summer will be good for the former heavyweight champion to get back to path to the top of the division. He claims Dillian Whyte is the fight for the 33 year –old Nigeria- British. And another could be fine before Wilder or Fury fight.

The proposed December fight could see Tyson Fury against Aleksandr Usyk and Joshua face Wilder the same night at the same venue.
