Nigeria- British boxer Anthony Joshua will fight Jermaine Franklin 1 April at the Q2 Arena London.

The 33 year-old who is seeking for a win after back- to-back fights lost to world champion Oleksandr Usyk, was tipped to fight two time world champion and fellow British Tyson Luke Fury but that hasn’t happened.

Alternatively, the Nigeria born descendant will hope to repeat his feet after beating Kubrat Pulev in 2020. Franklin who was beaten in an unanimous decision by Briton Dillian Whyte in November will hope to make a better performance after his first fight loss in 22 fights.

The 29-year-old Franklin strongly believes it is time to show the world his place in the heavyweight division, “Joshua had his time. It is my time to shock the world.” Franklin said.

Meanwhile, Joshua is feeling confident ahead of the Q2 Arena showdown and said he is looking forward to being back into the ring. “Mentally and physically I feel ready. I want to put on a show and impress my coach as he has high standards.

The 33 year-old did admit the 29 year-old has great styles “Franklin has a good style and a great attitude, which he has shown in recent fights.” Joshua said.

Joshua was a two-time world champion and he lost in August in quest to recapture unifield heavyweight crowns from Usyk. He had also lost in a shock defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019 which he later avenged.
