FINIDI APPLAUDS ENYIMBA PLAYERS AFTER OBIOMA’S BRACE AGAINST EL-KANEMI WARRIORS
Former Nigeria international and head coach Enyimba George Finidi has praised his players for the sterling performance in 2-0 home win against El-Kanemi Warriors on Sunday.
The goals scored in the first half returned the People’s Elephant to winning ways following the team’s defeat to Remo Stars in midweek action. Emeka Obioma who is improving in every game played this season netted the two goals to seal the win.
Despite efforts in the second half after the brace from Emeka Enyimba could not break the defense of El-Kanemi Warriors.
The win takes Enyimba to 10 points after 6 games to occupy the third position, while Remo Stars are second with 12 points from 6 games. Bendel Insurance of Benin top the Group A NPFL table with 16 points from 6 games.
Meanwhile, Enyimba head coach George Finidi has heaped plaudits on his team for the first half performance,
“It’s always good to score in the first half, you know in the Nigerian league, if you don’t score in the first half, the opponents will start using delay tactics or whatever can be done to achieve result.” Finidi to Enyimbafc.net according to Daily Post.
“But when you score, they will come out more. We could have won the game with more goals, but we didn’t take our chances.
“At the end of the day, we won 2-0 and I’m happy with our performance. Two goals.”
Meanwhile, the brace takes Obioma’s tally in the season to four goals which some pundits are already tipping him for the top scorer this season.
