RESCHEDULED 2022 LAGOS TENNIS CUP TO BEGIN TUESDAY
The 2022 Lagos Tennis Cup will now be held from the 4 October to 9,the Tennis Management Company Limited (TMCL), announced.
This is due to the anticipation of rainfall during the initial scheduled weekend of the action at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club. The tournament will feature the top 8 men and women’s players in Nigeria based on the official rankings of the Nigeria Tennis Federation.
The tournament which could be described as one coming at the celebration of Nigeria’s Independence is disrupted in schedule and the organisers have now apologized,
“Due to expected heavy rains especially on the weekend of the finals, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the 2022 Lagos Tennis Cup by a week,” the company tweeted on Sunday.
“The tournament will now begin on Tuesday 4th October and end on October 9th at the venue-the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Onikan.
The statement further said, “We regret the inconveniences to you and to our sponsors and players.”
The weekend on September 30 would have been the climax of “Naija Major” tournament which features the best 8 in men and women’s ranking by the Nigeria Tennis Federation. The tournament is being organised by Tennis Management Company Limited (TMCL).
