ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE: ARSENAL IN FLYING START WIN 2-0 AGAINST CRYSTAL PALACE

Arsenal sparkled in the new season of the English Premier League in flying start with a 2-0 defeat of Crystal Palace.

Gabriel Martinelli opened the scoring in the 20minute of the first half with new signing Gabriel Jesus creating impact in the building up to the goal, although Zinchenko Oleksandr provided the assist for the opener.

The close range header by Gabriel Martnelli for the opening goal obviously showed Arsenal’s ambition in the new season and also considering the character of the Gunners soaking pressure from Palace. Palace had responded in the intervening period, forcing strong saves from Aaron Ramsdale.

The resilience Arsenal did add the second goal in the closing stages of the second half when Bukayo Saka’s cross was deflected by Marc Guehi for an own goal into his net.

While opening opportunities in the second half also brought out flashes of what Crystal Palace can do in the new season the combining-partnership of Nigeria’s descendant Eberechi Eze and Ivorian Wilfred Zaha did call Arsenal’s goalkeeper to duty with decent saves.

The closing stages of the second half was almost going the Palace way for an equalizer as they pressured Mikel Arteta’s team but failed to capitalize on their chances before the own goal by Guehi in the 85  minute.

Meanwhile on the average assessment, it was a good start for Arsenal’s new signings Gabriel Jesus and Zinchenko Olesandr considering their performance on the opening day of the new season.
