ADEMOLA LOOKMAN SET TO COMPLETE MOVE TO ATALANTA
Nigeria international Ademola Lookman is set to conclude signing with Serie A club Atalanta from German club RB Leipzig, according Gianluca Di Marzio.
The club has agreed on personal terms with the former England U-21 player and reports claim he is on the final stage of talks. Lookman was loaned to Premier League club Leicester, having had a short stalled stay at Everton. His lack of playing time at Everton prompted the German club loaning him to Leicester City where he scored 6 goals in 16 league appearances with efforts in assist, especially from the wings.
He also scored two goals in the Capital One Cup! With a rising profile, the Nigerian player could be a perfect pairing in the attack, especially playing from the wings. He is also believed to be a player that could fit into Gian Piero Gasperini- Atalanta style.
The former Charlton Athletic player is most likely to compete with former Chelsea youngster Jeremie Boga for the starting shirt.
Boga suffered some set -back last season with injuries limiting his playing time for Atalanta. But could also be a surprise player for the new season looking at his previous rating as a Chelsea youngster.
While the 24 year-old Nigerian is a ‘sure’ player for the new season his experience on loan at Fulham, Everton and his impressive performance at Leicester City last season looks most likely to continue in Serie A. It has been rumoured Leicester might not be able keep him at the club due to high demand from his German club RB Leipzig.
