TRANSFER: SENEGAL’S KALIDOU KOULIBALY CLOSE TO CHELSEA DEAL
Chelsea are on the verge of signing Senegalese international Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli after many years of wooing the experience defender in Naples.
Koulibaly who has spent eight years with the Serie A club has been pivotal in the Napoli defence over the years. The previous attempt by clubs to land his signature has been scared by huge transfer fee placed on him by club authority. But this time, Koulibaly is reported interested in wrapping up the deal within the next few hours as his current club Napoli was due to resume pre-season on Tuesday.
According to reports, Koulibaly could delay his return to Napoli’s pre-season, according to Football Italia, due to the fast progress that has been made regarding the transfer move to Chelsea.
Koulibaly who won the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal has been placed on 34m pounds on a lucrative long term contract with the former UEFA Champions League winner, Chelsea.
According to Football London, Italian transfer guru, Alfredo Pedulla of Sports Italia has reported that the 31 year-old has accepted a five year contract proposal worth around 7.6million pound- 8.4million pound per year (around 630,000 pound per month and 180,000 pound a week).
Meanwhile, it is believed personal terms is not an issue. But Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis is bent on the club demand for the applauded reliable defender that has spent over five year in Naples.
With a year left in his contract in Napoli and the reaction of the Senegalese, the long awaited exit from Napoli could be wrapped up in matter of hours. “I’ll confirm that later, but it’s on the right track,” Koulbaly said on Italian radio as reported by Journalist Romain Collet-Guard.
