PESEIRO DELIGHTED WITH SUPER EAGLES 10-0 SMASHING OF SAO TOME AND PRINCIPE
New Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro made history guiding the Nigeria national team to their biggest win in international football following the team’s 10-0 bashing of Sao Tome and Principe in 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification at the Stade d’ Aggadir in Morocco
The three time African champion top notch striker, Victor Osimhen netted four goals in the match to keep his goal scoring form to 15 wearing the Nigeria Jersey. The Falcons and True Parrots had suffered 5-1 defeat to Guinea- Bissau in match day one. While the Super Eagles out run the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone with a 2-1 win.
With the out -come of the match putting Nigeria at the top of Group A with six points with good number of goal difference, it puts the previous two defeats to Ecuador and Mexico in international friendly match in the US behind its shadow.
Meanwhile, coach Peseiro has admitted the team is gradually improving to his style and he is delighted with reaction of the substitutes when they came into the game in second half. Speaking to ESPN, according to the BBC, the three points is important for the team.
“We want to introduce our ideas- this match was good because they tried to follow our organization, our style, our style, our idea. I am happy also because the guys who entered during the match did well as those players who started.” Peseiro said.
