NPFL: PLATEAU UNITED WN 1-0 AGAINST PILLARS KEEP CHASE ON LEAGUE TITLE

Plateau United earned a hard fought three points to remain in contention for the Nigeria Professional League title with a 1-0 win against Kano Pillars in Jos on Sunday.

The home side had an impressive start in the early minutes of the game but failed to convert their chances. Jesse Akila broke the deadlock with seven minutes before the break. Plateau United held to the goal lead to take a vital three points.

In Bauchi, Wikki Tourists defeated Rivers United 1-0 to keep a chase on the league leaders. Manu Garba netted the goal for Bauchi base club. Fidelis Ilechukwu side is now seven points behind the league leaders.

Remo Stars made a quick return to winning ways after two consecutive defeats in Ikenne with Sikiri Alimi scoring in the 17th minute.

MFM, shock stagnate in the relegation zone was compounded with a 0-0 draw at home by Benue club Lobi Stars.
