FIFA: NIGERIA BAN TO PLAY BEHIND CLOSED DOORS

Nigeria has been handed a one match ban and behind closed doors after the crowd disorder during last month’s 2022 World Cup playoffs by International Football Federation (FIFA).

Nigeria has also been fined 150,000 Swiss francs ($153,000) after fans invaded the pitch in Abuja following playoff defeat to Ghana.

West African soccer giant Senegal were fined 175,000 Swiss francs ($180,000) over crowd disturbance and invasion of pitch, FIFA had picked holes against Senegal for lack of order in the second leg against Egypt in Dakar in the 2022 World Cup playoffs.

DR Congo have also been handed similar punishments following crowd disturbances in the match against Morocco.
