CALVIN BASSEY DEBUTS FOR NIGERIA

Calvin Ughelumba Bassey made his debutant for Nigeria in first leg World Cup qualifier playoff against the Black Stars of Ghana.

The Rangers left full back who was delighted with the achievement at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi. is optimistic Super Eagles will win against Ghana at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja, Tuesday,

“It’s harder to breathe, so it’s just adjusting to it.”

The 22 year-old replaced Porto’s left- back Zaidu Sanusi who had a brilliant game against the Black Stars in the 74th minute. Bassey made instant impact with successful passes and tackles to the admirable of soccer fans in Ghana.

He was eligible to represent three countries, having been born in Italy, raised in England and born to Nigerian parents. But opted to represent the three time African Champions, Super Eagles.
