EDO QUEENS FLOURISH SCORES HAT-TRICK IN FALCONETS 3-1 WIN IN SENEGAL

The Nigeria U-20 Women team put up a masterclass to beat Senegal 3-1 in the Costa Rica U-20 World Cup qualifiers on Saturday in Thies.

Edo Queens forward Flourish Sebastine kept a perfect start in the 9 minute to score the first for Falconets before netting two quick goals in the second half to make it a hat- trick at the Stade Lat-Dior. The two time World Cup silver medallists showed enthusiasm and flourishing flair in the attack especially in the second half.

Senegal who defeated Mali in the Fourth Round through a penalty shoot-out got a consolation goal in the 89 minute when Togolese referee Vincent Amedome gave a penalty call after captain Oluwatosin Demehin tripped a Senegalese in the Nigerian box.

With the victory, Falconets will go to the second leg tie at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City on Saturday, 26th March hoping to keep a perfect record to fly Africa’s flag in Costa Rica FIFA Women World Cup in five months’ time.
