GHANA VS NIGERIA: ANDRE AYEW, TETTEH OUT OF 2022 WORLD CUP PLAY OFF AS SULEIMANA SUFFERS INJURY

Ahead of Nigeria against Ghana in the 2022 World Cup playoffs, this month Baba Rahman and Kamaldeen Suleimana could join captain Andre Ayew among players that will miss the anticipated explosive encounter in Ghana.

The duo of Kamaldeen Suleiman and Baba Rahman are reported nursing injuries in their club assignment over the weekend which possible date of their return to action is not known yet, the injuries could be a blow for the coach Otto Addo team. Already out of the match are Andre Ayew and Benjamin Tetteh who will be missing the match due to suspension.

Although, Rennes manager Bruno Genesio said details of Kamaldeen Sulemana injury has not been disclosed but stated the 19 year-old will remain on treatment for a while. He described his injury as one that, it’s likely to be isthmic lysis and crack in a vertebra at the back.

Meanwhile, a boost for the Black Stars coach is “back-to-fitness” Mohammed Kudus who missed the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations due to injury. Other dependable players expected to line up against the Super Eagles are Daniel Amartey, Arsenal’s Thomas Partey and Crystal Palace Jordan Ayew.

For the Three time Africa Champion, Nigeria, coach Austin Eguaveon has invited 25 players and additional provisional list of 7 players towards preparation for 2022 World Cup playoffs.

He has also expressed interest in having Victor Moses back to the national team.

The Ghana against Nigeria encounter first leg will come up at the Cape Coast Stadium on March 25 while the second leg will hold at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja on March 29.
