OSIMHEN SCORES LATE WINNER FIRES NAPOLI TO TOP OF SERIE A

Nigeria international Victor Osimhen returned from international break to score for Napoli on Sunday in the Italian Serie A match against Torino in a hard fought win. The Nigeria top-notch striker has seen AC Milan go top on the table after battling back from two goals down to beat Hellas Verona 3-2 at the San Siro Saturday.

Osimhen who scored last week against the Central African Republic in the African Group C FIFA World Cup qualifying match to keep Nigeria at the top of the table, headed the twilight of the game winner. With an 81 minute goal it makes it eight straight wins for Napoli with 24 points, two more than AC Milan, while reigning champions Inter Milan are on 17 points after losing away 3-1 against Lazio Saturday. Osimhen has now scored five goals from seven matches in the elite Italian League.

In another match, Atalanta won 4-1 against Empoli as the easy win prepares ground for their Champions League match against Manchester United on Wednesday. Slovenian international, Josip Ilicic scored the opener after a long absence due to injury for his first goal of the season through a pass from Joakim Maele in the 10 minutes of the game.

The second goal came in the 26 minutes for Ilicic to record his second goal before Federico Di Francesco pulled a goal back for the home side. Four minutes later Mattia Viti, 19, scored an own goal before the visitors wrapped up the win with the last goal of the match from Colombian forward, Duvan Zapata, who got his 100th Serie A goal to make 4-1 away for Atalanta.
