WALDRUM INVITES OPARANOZIE, OSHOALA AND 21 OTHERS FOR WOMEN AFCON QUALIFYING AGAINST BLACK QUEENS OF GHANA

Nigeria women national team coach Randy Waldrum has invited Desire Oparanozie, Asisat Oshoala and 21 others for the October 20 clash against the Black Queens of Ghana for the 2022 Women AFCON qualifying fixture taking place at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.

Also included in the nine- time African Champions list are defenders Onome Ebi, Osinachi Ohale, Glory Ogbonna and goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, midfielders Raheedat Ajibade, Regina Chikwelu and Toni Payne.

The forwards are Uchenna Kanu, Francisca Odega, Gift Monday and Vivian Ikechukwu, among others. The Super Falcons is schedule to play the second leg of the double header match on October 24 in Accra. The winner will join Morocco and 10 other countries for the 12th Women Africa Cup of Nations next year summer in the Kingdom of Morocco.

In preparation for the explosive encounter with the Black Queens of Ghana, Nigeria women side had played a couple of matches in the USWNT Summit Series in the United States of America in June, the team played Portugal, Jamaica and USA senior women teams. The Falcons also featured at the six-nation Aisha Buhari Invitational Tournament in Lagos in September.
