SWISS FEDERER TO BATTLE BRITON CAMERON NORRIE AFTER BEATING GASQUET

Swiss Roger Federer defeated Richard Gasquet 7-6 (7-1) 6-1 6-4 in Wimbledon tennis Grand Slam to set up against Cameron Norrie who beat Australian wildcard Alex Bolt 6-3 6-1 6-2

Federer who retired at the French Open to protect himself after a long injury with two surgeries struggled in the opening match against Adrian Mannarino, had a slow start against Gasquet, although he dominated the first-set-break and eventually ease through the next two sets, his performance is gradually setting it right for the next challenge against Briton Cameron Norrie.

Meanwhile, Federer is looking forward to the crowd and he expects that the spectators will add some bit to the game.

“I understand if they cheer for him and if it is for me it is because of the last 20 years and all the big wins I’ve had here.

“Cam is a good guy, he’s had a wonderful year and played great at queen’s, backing that up here.” Said Federer, expressing his desire to win the game against Norrie.

But for the 25 year-old Briton who has been one of the leading players on the ATP Tour this year, he see the contest against the Swiss as a true test,

“If there is a time to play Roger, I guess now is the best- but he is still a decent player.” Said Norrie.

The 29th seed and Briton number two had a blistering performance against Bolt winning 11 in a row to turn the game around after losing the first three games against Bolt in the second round.
