GUARDIOLA PAYS EMOTIONAL TRIBUTE TO AGUERO AS CITY WIN PREMIER LEAGUE

Argentine international Sergio Aguero has bid farewell to newly crowned English Premier League Champions Manchester City after their 5-0 demolition of Everton in the season’s last game on Sunday.

Aguero City’s all time goal scorer with 260 goals ahead of potential last appearance in the Champions League final against Chelsea Saturday was a delight to watch by the home fans who were higher in number for the first time after a long absence from the stadium.

The 32 years old who has spent 10 years with Manchester City winning five Premier League titles, speaking to Sky Sport said,

“When I came here the first title for me was the most important, for the club and for me. Then Man City started to win more titles so I’m so happy because it’s not easy to be 10 years at one club, for me, it’s an honour.”

Meanwhile, City’s coach Pep Guardiola also paid emotional tribute to the Argentinian who netted a brace in their final league game of the season after his club compatriots Kevin De Bruyne, Gabriel Jesus and Phil Foden had scored in the five goals thriller.

When asked of Aguero’s chance of playing at the Champions League final come Saturday in Porto, Guardiola said,

“Of course. We have five substitutions. He has a special feeling, he has something special.

Of course he will be ready if we need him to help us win the Champions League.”

Guardiola added “We have time. We will go home now. We’ve enjoyed the last weeks, every moment, of being champions. Now today we celebrate but tomorrow we train.

He also said the team will have a day off and the return to training two or three days to prepare for the Champions League showdown against Chelsea.

Guardiola, having celebrated the victory in tears of joy, will now turn attention to Porto for their European quest for first Champions League title.
