HOW AHMED MUSA RETURNED TO NPFL WITH A WIN FOR KANO PILLARS

Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa returned to the Nigeria Professional League weekend in the NPFL Match-day 21 fixture with a win in Kaduna as Kano Pillars defeated Adamawa United in his debut.

The former Leicester City striker was outstanding in the match providing an assist 10 minutes from time as he set up Rabiu Ali for the winning goal. The Sai Masu Gida clash at the Ahmedu Bello Stadium in Kaduna, keeps Kano Pillars in contention for spot in the Confederation of African Football Champions League as the highly supported northern club maintain the second position with 40 points in the NPFL table.

Meanwhile, Akwa United retained the top spot in the Nigeria Professional League after their win over local rivals Dakkada FC. In other matches, Kwara United showed class of superiority as the team returned to winning ways courtesy of 2-0 home win against Plateau United. Stephen Jude added the second goal 10 minutes from time after Jide Fatokun had put the home team ahead four minutes after the break.

The battle of Ozoro at the Ozoro Polytechnic Stadium, “Miracle Boys”, Mountain of Fire and Miracle FC Lagos outshined Warri Wolves with a goal each from Onyebuchi Ifeanyi and Clement Ogwu.

With the win the team claim their sixth away point of the season in the NPFL Week 21 fixture. The visiting team sterling performance saw the “Miracle Boys” maintain discipline in the defense and stylishly found their attack scoring goals.

At the Namdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu home team the Fly Antelope lost 1-0 to Rivers United. Former Rangers Godwin Aguda netted the winner against his former club eight minutes.

At the Abuabkar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi, Wikki Tourists lost to Nasarawa United. The home team took the lead in the 22nd minutes but the visitors were delight to watch as they turned the score with two goals from Anas Yusuf and Silas Nwankwo.
