Nigeria international Ahmed Musa has officially joined Kano Pillars for a second stint after mutual agreement parting ways with Saudi- Arabian elite club Al Nassr.

The Super Eagles captain has agreed a short term contract with the Nigerian Professional League side. Musa, who was the highest goal scorer in the Nigeria Professional League in 2009, scoring 18 goals as Pillars player before joining VVV-Venlo in the Netherlands.

In a club statement by Kano Pillars “Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, has sensationally returned to Kano Pillars FC for the remainder of the 2020/21 Nigeria Professional League Season (NPFL).”

Meanwhile, reactions from pundits and fans of the club are tilting to a welcome to his boyhood club.

Ahmed Musa, 29, became the first Nigerian to score more than once at the FIFA World Cup, scoring twice against Argentina under former captain and coach of the Super Eagles, late Stephen Keshi in 2014 FIFA World Cup. He has played for Leicester City in the English Premier League and CSKA Moscow in the Russian elite league.

In 2016, he joined Leicester City for a club record of £16.6 million after winning three Russian Premier League titles, One Russian Cup and two Russian Super Cups in his four years plying his trade at the club
