SUPER EAGLES WIN 3-0 AGAINST THE CROCODILES OF LESOTHO
Nigeria Super Eagles defeated the Crocodiles of Lesotho 3-0 in their final African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos, Tuesday.
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, Turkish base Oghenekaro Etebo scored for the Super Eagles in a match the Nigerian team dominated play to sustain its superb run at the qualification matches. Nigeria had qualified after beating the Squirrels of Benin away with a 93 minutes strike by Paul Onuachu who was also among the scorers in the match against Lesotho.
Although, the West African soccer giants shocking collapse in their previous match against Sierra Leone having lead 4-0 before the Leone Stars made a comeback to equal scores at 4-4, was unimpressive performance to their fans.
But the away 0-0 draw against Sierra Leone, Super Eagles rekindled their confidence of qualification having earlier beaten Lesotho at away 4-2.
With the qualification of Gernot Rohr’s men, Nigeria, obviously is a team to watch-out for at the tournament as his players such as Kelechi Iheanacho, Victor Osimhen, Oghenekaro Etebo and host of other players are in top form for their various clubs, especially those that ply their trade in Europe.
