TUCHEI DELIGHTED WITH ZIYECH GOAL AGAINST ATLETICO MADRID
Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchei has praised Morocco international Hakim Ziyech for the spectacular goal scored against Atletico Madrid, before Emerson added another in UEFA Champions League, Wednesday.
Tuchei who was excited with the performance of Ziyech stated that the experience of the former Ajax player was important in the game.
“He played for that because he did this at Ajax. We choose him for this, good experience in the round of 16, knows how it feels to arrive in the knockout round to go through to the last eight,” Tuchei said.
Ziyech who have had a difficult playing time under former coach Frank Lampard made his seventh appearance in the European Championship this season, but his brilliant play, obviously outshined his struggle in commanding a regular time for the Blues.
“First reason because he deserves, this was the second reason, and third reason today is we miss Mason Mount and wanted to replace work rate and intensity with Hakim.” Tochei added.
Meanwhile, the Moroccan international who spent four years playing for Ajax Amsterdam is delighted with his performance in the highly rated game against Atletico Madrid, which he described as a match both teams needed to size each other at the early stage of the game.
“It was a bit like seeing how the game would go for 10 minutes and after that we had control. We did well.
He had also told BT Sport, how difficult it was playing Atletico Madrid which their opponent created less chances in the match.
“Some difficult moments in the game but for most the time, we had it under control. It was important goal and I had to wait a long time for it,” Ziyech said.
With the win, Tuchei will desire to feature the Moroccan international in their upcoming game on March 21 in the English FA Cup and the Champions League quarter –finals match which the UEFA elite club cup draws will be made on Friday.
Ziyech, 27, has scored three goals across all competitions in this campaign for Chelsea.
