Nigeria – British unified heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua has declared himself ready to fight Kubrat Pulev at the Wembley’s SSE Arena, Saturday.
Joshua who was due to take on Kubrat Pulev in 2017, but unfortunately the Bulgarian pulled out of the fight due to shoulder injury. Now, Kubrat is ready after three years initial fight schedule which is to be watched by 1,000 spectators.
“I’m ready for this fight. We spend a long time waiting because 2017 I had a problem and that is why I tell my trainer we must go for the win,” Pulev explained.
Pulev, 39 year -old, is an experience boxer, who believes the shoulder injury that forced him out of the 2017 initially proposed fight with the Briton is gone as he is in better shape to fight Joshua.
Meanwhile, Nigeria- British world boxing champion insist he has tasted good number of fights to face the 39- year old Bulgarian,
“I want to be successful in boxing and that is why I fight the top fighters”
Joshua added “I have been punched by the strongest people many times and I am still here today”
The Nigerian who has made a couple of visits to his fatherland, also maintained that his loss to Ruiz, should not be a yardstick in assessing him having won the rematch to become the unified Heavyweight Champion.
“Just because I took a loss to Ruiz that is not enough to change me because I have character.
“I will definitely get hit and he will definitely get hit and I will be about the last man standing”
Joshua insist he is ready for action, “I am prepared for it to go to the final belt, I feel I am a 15-round fighter and if it needs to go 12, I am ready”.
Anthony Joshua steps out to the Wembley SSE, Arena, Saturday to continue his quest to better his record, a win, he will achieve a record 24-1 in his fights. He holds the WBA, WBO, IBFand IBO belts which he won from Andy Ruiz Jr in December.
