Nigeria’s U20 coach Ladan Bosso has named 20 man final list to the U20 WAFU Cup to be held from 5th-20th December in Republic of Benin. It also stands as qualifying tournament for the U20 African Cup of Nations, 2021 in Mauritania.
The team comprises of emerging players graduating from U17 the Golden Eaglets, academy and new discoveries from the grassroots. Abia Warriors goalkeeper Chibueze Lambert leads the list which include Wisdom Ubani and Peter Olawale both played for the Golden Eaglets at the last FIFA U17 World Cup in Brazil. .
Kolawaole Oladipo of Crown FC and Box2Box FC goalkeeper John Amah who has shown to have good reflexes with good height completes the list for the shot stoppers.
The defenders comprises of Temitayo Ereku of Brookhouse Academy, Charles Etim of Blessed Stars, who can play from the rightback, leftback or central defense. Others are the Plateau United Mike Zaruma, Christopher Nwaeze of Kwara United, Moses Solomon of Kwara United, Isaiah Ejeh of Kwara United of Ilorin and Jimmy Abdul of MFM, Lagos.
Nasarawa United, Muhammad Abdullah joins Oladoye Adewale of Water FC in midfield, the duo of Liameed Quardri and Azeez Oseni who both plays for 36 Lions completes the midfielders.
In the attack. Wisdom Ubani makes a step up from the Golden Eaglets team to the FIFA U17 World Cup in Brazil, his compatriot from Gaint Brillas Chukwubuikem also made the list. They are joined by Chisom Orji of Collins Edwin, Farayola Olawale of Kwara United, Nenrot Silas and Peter Olawale who ply his trade in Israel with Hapoel Ranana.
