NAOMI OSAKA SET RETURN TO TENNIS IN AUSTRALIA
US Open reigning champion, Japan’s Naomi Osaka has confirmed she will return to the tennis tour in Australia, probably in January 2021.
The world No.3 who won her first Grand Slam in 2018 at the Australia Open beating Petra Kvitova in a hard fought three setter said recently according First Sportz,
“I would say I am going back on tour in Australia, so probably in January next year.”
Meanwhile, she had confirmed earlier her 2020 season had ended after the 2020 US Open. It is not yet known which of the competitions she will start with in Australia as there are several competitions, such as Brisbane Open, which could be perceived as a warm up to the Australian Open.
Her quest for a fourth Grand Slam title for sure will start in Melbourne with the desire to repeat her 2018 victory over Petra Kvitova. Naomi won the 2020 US Open defeating Victoria Azarenka in the final.
