HOW LEONE STARS LEVELLED SCORES 4-4 AGAINST SUPER EAGLES

The Super Eagles of Nigeria returned to African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying, with a shocking 4-4 draw against the Leone Stats of Sierra Leone after 4-0 lead within the first 30 minutes at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.

The West Africa soccer giants, Nigeria, four goals in the opening half-hour started with Everton forward Alex Iwobi opening the flood gate with two goals, one from Napoli’s hitman,Vicor Osinhen and the fourth from Villarreal of Spain’s winger, Samuel Chukwueze.

But the Super Eagles started with what could be described as over confidence in their approach to the game before the late minutes of the first half. Surprisingly, they conceded a goal through Leone Stars Kwame Qee before the end of the first half.

On resumption of the second half, Nigeria lost control of the midfield chasing the Sierra Leonians as they took control of the game. The Leone stars effort paid off to see the team score three goals through combine effort of second half substitute Al-Hadji Kamara and Mustapha Bundu to level score at 4-4.

The Nigerian team was obviously fizzled out before the end of the game and coach Gerrnot Rohr could not find an answer through some of his substitutions. It equally, exposed his tactical inefficiencies, players wrong pairing and position in the 4-2.3-1 formation.

The Nigeria team is expected to depart to Sierra Leone, Monday for the double tier return game and a win will ensure Super Eagles qualification to African Cup of Nations to be hosted by Cameroon.
