VICTOR OSIMHEN SCORES HIS SECOND SERIE A GOAL AGAINST BOLOGNA

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen scored his second goal in Serie A as Napoli continue their impressive start in the league with a lone goal away to Bologna on Sunday.

Osimhen who joined Napoli from French club Lille during the summer scored in the 23rd minute through a header in an inch-perfect cross from Hirving Lozaro. The Nigeria international has now scored two goals from nine appearances for the Naples club.

Osimhen who scored his maiden goal in Serie A in Napoli’s game against Atalanta last month was adjudged to have fouled an opponent in the 49th minute after his team mate Kalidou Koulibaly had put the ball at the back of the net from a corner kick.

With the lone goal from the 21 year-old striker, Napoli now occupy the third position on the Serie A League table with 14 points, two points behind league leader AC Milan.

Meanwhile, another Nigeria player Kingsley Michael was on the bench for Napoli while Gambian player striker Musa Barrow played for 90 minute for the Naples club.

Osimhen was replaced in the 83 minute by Andrea Petagua .He won African Best Player in Ligue 1 and Lille player of the season in 2019/2020 season before joining the Italian outfit in a reportedly club record signing.

Osimhen is expected to the Super Eagles camp this week ahead of African Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone on the 13th November at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City and the rerun battle on the 16th November in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
