RUSSIA’S MEDVEDEV WINS PARIS MASTERS BEAT GERMANY’S ZREVEV

PARIS MASTERS: Daniil Medvedev claimed his first Paris Masters title Sunday at the Bery Arena from a set down to beat Alexander Zverev in 5-7, 6-4, 6-1.

The Third seed Medvedev was in a class of top form in an encounter the Russian was winning his eight career crown. Germany’s Zverev and Medvedev now qualify for the London ATP Finals and event Zverev won in 2018.

Medvedev has expressed worries before the competition, although he came out triumphantly winning the Paris Masters.

“Before this tournament I wasn.t in great form, zero finals this year and I was crying, well complaining, to my wife, ‘Oh my God, I don’t have the level, not playing well, not even any finals.” Medvedev said.   

Medvedev who has now won three masters titles is excited on winning the trophy,

“It’s great, I’m really happy. As I always say, I don’t always show this after matches, but I’m always happy to win.” He said

Medvedev also added, “But now, three Masters titles, it’s great. I have had the level this week. I managed to keep the pressure on and in the end I broke his level a little bit.”

Meanwhile Zverev who knocked out Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals will hope for a repeat of his 218 result at the ATP Finals in London which he won, he qualified for 2020 ATP Finals London challenge having played as runner up at the Paris Masters.
