IHEANACHO SCORES AS SUPER EAGLES PLAY 1-1 WITH TUNISIA
Leicester City forward, Kelechi Iheanacho scored and missed a penalty as Super Eagles played 1-1 draw with Carthage Eagles of Tunisia in an international friendly match in Austria.
The Nigerian team took lead in the first half with Kelechi Iheanacho dribbling the Tunisian marker in the box before he intelligently kicked the ball to beat Carthage Eagles goalkeeper and put the Super Eagles 1-0 lead.
Super Eagles had an opportunity to score the second goal when Ahmed Musa was fouled inside box by Tunisia goalkeeper Ben Mustapha. Iheanacho stepped up and took the penalty but missed.
The Nigerian team continued the game with average performance with errors in marking and poor cohesion. The Carthage Eagles took advantage of the poor defensive play with mistake from Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo and equalised before the halftime break through Drajer Mohammed.
Nigeria struggled in the second half without impressive performance fighting to cope with the pace and tactics of the Tunisian team, the match ended 1-1.Meanwhile, Nigeria Football Federation through its Twitter page had announced that all Super Eagles players tested negative to Covid-19 before the friendly match started at Jacques Lemans Arena in Austria
