SUPER EAGLES SEEK BETTER RESULT AGAINST TUNISIA IN AUSTRIA

The Super Eagles return to the pitch against the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia at the Jacques Lemans Arena after the defeat to Algeria in an international friendly played Tuesday in Austria.

The Gernor Rohr’s team will seek for a better result having faced criticism from Super Eagles supporters for lack of cohesions and inability to bounce back against the Desert Foxes of Algeria. The result ended Nigeria five game unbeaten run which the team conceded an early goal with Ranny Bensebaini scoring.

Although, Nigeria played the game without Napoli’s striker Victor Osimhen, Galatasary’s Oghenekaro Etebo and Leicester’s City Wilfred Ndidi, who is reported injured. The team had array of other stars and new debutant in the last which it was expected the team could have done better.

The Nigeria coach Rohr might give opportunity to Kelechi Iheanacho, Ahmed Musa and expected debutant Cyriel Dessers in the starting attack. Paul Onuachu who was not impressive in the last game due to Eagles lack of wingers with quick crosses and partnering striker with composure to lay passes to him, is expected to be benched.

In the defense debutant left back Zaidu Sanusi who was impressive against Algeria is expected to retain his position, while Troost Ekong and Kenneth Omeruo can partner the centre –back with Rangers Leon Balogun watching from the bench. Chidozie Awaziem or Jamiu Collins will play from the right full back.

With Maduka Okoye’s good performance against Algeria, Rohr could hand starting Goalkeeper shirt to Dele Alampasu to assess his agility and confidence at this stage of game.
