ANTHONY JOSHUA, PULEV AGREE DATE FOR WORLD BOXING HEAVYWEIGHT FIGHT

Nigerian-British Heavyweight Boxing World Champion, Anthony Joshua will take on Bulgarian boxer, Kubrat Pulev on 12 December. This was confirmed by The International Boxing Federation (IBF) mandatory challenger on Monday.

The reigning World Boxing Champion who defeated Mexican fighter, Andy Ruiz Jr in a rematch in Saudi-Arabia in December, 2019 to win back his IBF, WBA, WBO and IBO titles was initially scheduled to fight Pulev on June 20. The fight was postponed due to global Covid- 19 pandemic which led to suspension of sporting activities.

Kubrat Pulev who was knockout in the fifth round in his IBF World Heavyweight title challenge of Wladimir Klitschko in Hamburg in 2014, is reported have confirmed the fight on his Facebook page,

“No turning back, on procrastination! Kubrat Pulev vs Anthony Joshua! The date is December 12, and the place is London!”

Also, both parties are said to have agreed on the fight and contract signed. Pulev, known as the Cobra said on his website (www.kubratpulev.com), according to Daily Post,

“the date and place of the event are now final and not subject to change, and both parties have signed the official contract.”

With the date of the match confirmed both boxers will hope for best fitness to the fight unlike the previous date in 2017 when Pulev pulled out of their scheduled October fight due to shoulder injury.
