HOW ADESANYA KNOCK-OUT COSTA TO RETAIN UFC MIDDLEWEIGHT BELT

Nigerian Israel Adesanya has retained his UFC Middleweight Title with a second round knock –out of Brazilian Paolo Costa, early on Sunday.

In the fight held on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi, the Nigerian flamboyant mixed martial arts fighter got the fight started with kicks on Costa’s left leg with additional punches which weakened the Brazilian fighter but Costa did survive the first round. 

Adesanya returned to the second round fighting with more energy, delivering on his tactics promise smashing the burly Brazilian with kicks, eventually Costa landed on the ground after a kick on the face from Adesanya.

The Nigerian Fighter nicknamed Last Style Bender now was comfortable having Costa on the ground, consistently continued with punches on the opponent until the referee stopped the fight in the second round for a knock-out win.

The Nigerian mixed martial arts star fighter now has 20 victories from 20 MMA fights, which he has nine out nine since joining the UFC in 2018.

He is now on the quest to meet the record of Anderson Silva all –time best middleweight of 13 consecutive wins, Adesanya is now five behind the record. 

Meanwhile, UFC president Danna White said after the fight, he feels Adesanya is going to be the new Anderson Silva of the division.
