OSIMHEN, 21 YEAR-OLD NIGERIA STRIKER DEBUT FOR NAPOLI
Nigeria international Victor Osimhen made his first competitive appearance for Italian club Napoli, Sunday in Serie A game against Parma.
Osimhen started from the bench, with Napoli coach Gennaro Gattuso preferred attacking partnership of Hirving Lozano, Dries Mertens and Lorenzo Insigne.
The Nigerian young lad came in the second half to replace Diego Demme after goalless first half, his impact was felt with his power play and pace. He continued the good form with a slight touch on Lozano’s cross which got to club all-time top scorer Merterns for the opening goal in the 64th minute.
The 21-year old gradually maintained consistency with his other attackers which paid off in the 77th minute with Insigne scoring the second goal for Napoli.
Victor Osimhen was voted Best African Player in France, 2019/2020 Season before moving to Italy in a big-money transfer worth up to €80 million from French club Lille.
Napoli won the game 2-0, meanwhile, the young Nigerian striker has been described as the Lion with the large heart by Napoli coach Gennaro Gattuso.
