TENNIS: ROHIT RAIPAL ELECTED PRESIDENT DELHI LAWN TENNIS ASSOCIATION
Rohit Rajpal, the Indian’s Davis Cup captain has been elected as President of the Delhi Lawn Tennis Association (DLTA) for a second time straight four-year term. He was unanimously re-elected to the post at the DLTA Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday alongside former Davis Cupper Balram Singh as the Secretary General.
The previous Treasure of DLTA, Rajeev Khanna is now the Secretary General Administration, while Aditya Khanna, the son of ITF Vice President and former ALTA President Anil Khana is now the new Treasurer.
Anil Khanna retained his position as the Delhi Lawn Tennis Association, Life President. Although, he was recently forced to quite as AITA Life President due to violation of National Sports Code.
Meanwhile, he is joined on the Life President position by former DPS Chairman Narinder Kumar.
The Delhi Lawn Tennis Association last hosted the Fed Cup in 2018 and the Delhi Open Tournament on the ATP Challenge Tour in 2015. DLTA has struggled due to inability to generate fund in the last few years, it only managed to host the Fenesta National Championship without boasting of any big event held in New Delhi.
