I AM DONE WITH SUPER EAGLES FOR NOW- Ighalo

Manchester United forward Odion Ighalo has expressed his intention to remain retired from the National team despite calls for his return to Super Eagles squad.

Ighalo who was in the Nigeria squad after helping the team to third place at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, announced his retirement from the squad to concentrate on club football. However his inform performance and goals at the elite English club has continued to generate interest call for his return to the National team.

But 2019 AFCON highest goal scorer feels different and not tempted to make an immediate return into action for Nigeria.

“For now I am done with the Super Eagles, but in life you can never say never. I am in contact with the coach constantly, four days ago he sent me a message,”

“I still message him to wish the team good luck before they play a game.

“We have young, very good players in the team, the likes of Osimhen coming up scoring goals, Chukwueze, good exciting players.

“I just want them to keep doing the job because they are doing so well for Super Eagles. I want to concentrate on club football for now.” Ighalo told Ghanian Journalist, Juliet Bawuah.
