MAN OF MATCH AWARD DELIGHTS HABIBU YAKUBU

Katsina United rock-solid defender Habibu Yakubu has revealed that he’s extremely delighted after bagging Man of Match Award in the NPFL matchday 7 versus MFM of Lagos.

The Flying Eagles defender was a key reason why his team kept another clean-sheet over the weekend with some technical clearances and interceptions as Katsina United ran away with a slim victory against MFM FC in a tension socked encounter decided at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina

The former Wikki Tourists defender went further and said the award will encourage him to perform better in the subsequent matches

While responding to a question on his assessment of his team, Katsina United thus far in the on going NPFL, Habibu said

“I think Katsina United are doing well as a team. Out of seven matches, we have drawn two, won three and lost two. This is an average performance and I will score my team seven out of ten. The energetic defender concluded

Habibu who joined Katsina United from Rarara Football Academy during off-season as a replacement for Timothy Danladi that moved to Enyimba has gradually become a mainstay in the backline of Katsina United as he has featured in every game for ‘The Changi Boys’ thus far this season

The bulky defender was part of the Flying Eagles team that represented Nigeria in the Male Football Category of All African Games at Rabat in Morocco early this year.
