CHELSEA FREE TO SIGN PLAYERS FROM JANUARY 2020, WINS APPEAL TO THE COURT OF ARBITRATION
Chelsea has won an appeal on transfer ban which the club can sign on players from January 2020.
Chelsea’s appeal to FIFA regarding the ban was thrown out, but in June the club submitted an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
Chelsea’s transfer ban has now been halved by CAS, permitting the club to sign players in January.
Frank Lampard Chelsea Coach had earlier November expressed his desire that the club appeal be looked into as he wish to sign some players to strengthen his team.
CAS reviewed evidence from the Premier League club and world football’s governing body and determined that the ban should be reduced.
